Haley, explores the decisions, experiences, lessons, values, and resources that move from one generation to the next.Through thoughtful conversations with professionals, community leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, financial experts, and everyday legacy builders, we examine what it really means to prepare something worth passing forward. From financial education and generational wealth to family conversations, entrepreneurship, community, history, values, and preparedness, Past to Posterity asks us to think beyond what we’re building for ourselves.
But where do you begin?
But first, you need to get organized.
That’s where Past to Posterity begins.
We help take the overwhelm and unknown out of legacy preparation by giving you a practical process for identifying, organizing, and communicating the information that matters.
You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin. You simply have to begin.
Estate planning professionals can create the legal documents that help protect you, your assets, and your family.
But there are questions only you can answer.
Past to Posterity helps you begin gathering those answers.
Our role is not to replace your attorney, financial advisor, accountant, insurance professional, or other trusted professional.
Our role is to help you become better prepared for those conversations – and better prepared for your family.
Turn “I need to get this together” into “I’m getting it done.”
The Legacy Clinic is a guided, hands-on legacy preparedness experience designed to help you begin organizing the information your family and professional advisors may need.
This isn’t a seminar where you simply listen, take notes, and promise yourself you’ll handle everything later.
You do the work.
Through guided activities and practical tools, participants begin addressing important areas of legacy preparedness, including:
You leave with greater clarity about what you have, what still needs attention, and what your next steps should be.
I’m Florence G. Haley, founder of Past to Posterity LLC.
After retiring from a successful career, I began thinking more intentionally about legacy. I had spent years doing many of the things we’re told responsible adults should do—work, build, save, provide, and prepare for retirement.
But I began asking myself a different question:
If I weren’t here tomorrow, would my family know what I know?
Would they know where everything was? Would they understand the decisions I had made? Would they know what questions to ask? Would they know what I wanted; not just financially, but for our family and the generations that would follow?
Those questions changed the way I thought about legacy.
I realized that leaving something behind isn’t enough.
We have to leave understanding behind, too.
That realization eventually became Past to Posterity, a legacy education and preparedness company created to help families have important conversations, organize important information, and take practical steps before a crisis forces them to.
Today, I bring together my experience as an author, Certified Financial Education Instructor℠, educator, speaker, podcast host, and lifelong learner to help make legacy preparation feel less overwhelming and more achievable.
We believe a meaningful legacy includes more than money.
What do you want the generations after you to build upon?
Legacy begins with understanding what you’re working toward and what you hope your family carries forward.
What should remain when you’re no longer in the room?
Your principles, traditions, lessons, faith, stories, and family wisdom can be as important as the assets you leave behind.
What have you built and how will it move forward?
Understanding and organizing your financial life helps you make more informed decisions and have more productive conversations with the professionals helping you protect and transfer what you’ve built.
Together, these three strands help families think beyond inheritance and toward posterity.
There are many ways to begin your legacy journey.
From Daze to Destiny: Reclaiming the Power of Our Spending
What happens when tremendous buying power doesn’t translate into lasting wealth?
In Black Dollar Daze, Florence G. Haley explores the relationship between spending, ownership, wealth building, community economics, and the financial legacy we leave future generations.
The conversation isn’t simply about how much money we spend.
It’s about what remains after the money is spent.
Legacy deserves more than one conversation.
The Past to Posterity podcast explores the decisions, experiences, challenges, and opportunities that shape what we pass from one generation to the next.
Through conversations about family, money, ownership, values, preparation, community, and purpose, Florence and her guests challenge listeners to ask:
What am I building today that can still matter tomorrow?
